Are you familiar with Tdap vaccine?

The Tdap vaccine protects against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (whooping cough). It's recommended for adolescents and adults who have not previously received Tdap or have had a dose more than 10 years prior, or after a severe wound. The vaccine is also recommended for pregnant women.

If you don't “believe” in the efficacy of vaccines, that's your call. But I do, and the brief discomfort to me is far outsweighed by the preventive value. Ask your doctor.
