For most people, the dream of retirement involves leaving the workforce behind, enjoying the fruits of their labor, and perhaps spending more time with family and hobbies. Consider these 15 different “mistakes”. While some may seem like common sense, too often, the details are either glossed over by over-enthusiastic salespeople or over-eager consultants. No plan: investments are made in a disconnected, usually suboptimal fashion. It is very hard to align strategy with a “let’s do it organically” approach, while also mitigating risk. Image
For Immediate Release: Dateline: Virginia Beach , VA Summary by ChatGPT In Episode 923 of the "Screw the Commute" podcast, host Tom Antion discusses the differences between hiring employees and independent contractors, highlighting the pros and cons of each. He emphasizes that the choice between the two depends on your business needs, such as the volume of work and the need for specialized skills. **Employees** are under your direct supervision and control, often working specific hours and possibly receiving benefits like health insurance and 401(k) plans. The benefits of having employees include control over their work schedules and continuity in operations. However, the drawbacks include the need to pay payroll taxes, provide equipment, and handle more complex accounting. **Independent contractors**, on the other hand, are typically brought in for specific tasks and often work for multiple clients. The advantages of hiring contractors include paying only when needed

What?s in a Name? Colleges and Hospitals That Is

Image
Is there a difference between a “college” and a “university” when it comes to schools or hospitals? Consumers need to know. However, along with the question of prestige comes business marketing considerations and the allure of a name . Apparently, we are experiencing a surge of name changes in terms of colleges and healthcare/hospitals outside of education. Life is About Choice—Your Choice  By Marilyn L Redmond, BA, ABH. IBRT It may seem like the roof is caving in, all of life is fanatical, with taxes and wars never ending. Have you noticed that when life has smoothed out then another issue arises? The vicissitudes of life are there for a reason. Ultimately, they bring balance. Our lives have a purpose and each event, good or bad, have meaning for us to examine. The ones we call bad are there to teach us a lesson. What did the situation emotionally trigger in you? Did you get angry, get revenge, or get sullen. Is that how you dealt with this kind of situation growing up or early in your life? Do you continue to react in this kind of life situation and things seem to never change? When I was older, I learned that I had to change with a new response instead of acting from my old ways. I did not have to stay in my immature childish ways of acting. I had been reacting from some kind of fear. In my early growing up, my parents did the best
